About The Show:

Shakespeare's mystical tale of power, revenge and "murder most foul" is told in an energized staging by CTH Artistic Director Alfred Preisser. MACBETH was the first show that CTH presented when they began in 1999; a revised version was presented at CTH in 2003 and was performed in Germany in June of 2004, before returning to Harlem for a four-week engagement. The cast included OBIE Winner Ty Jones, reprising his role as Macbeth, and CTH newcomer Roslyn Ruff (KING LEAR at Yale Rep, starring Avery Brooks) and longtime CTH cast member Arthur French, who recently received the Spencer Cherashore Fund Lifetime Dedication to Not-for-Profit Theatre Award. The production features dance, chant, live music and song, and several severed heads. One of Shakespeare's shortest works, this fast-moving Macbeth runs approximately 90 minutes.
